Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for the movie Piano. The accomplished actress started her career as an actor on the stage through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The actress has had a passion for acting from the time when she was in the high school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. After suffering from the Mumps, she was blind on the other side of her ears. However, this did not stop her ambition to become an actor. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and made Hunter's debut. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move in Los Angeles. She has since appeared in a variety of television series and movies throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
