Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer and director. Her name has been acknowledged for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included the Oscar for her movie Piano. The path to acting began in Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway projects. From the time she was a child, she has been passionate about performing. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. When she was in the fifth grade after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. However, she did not let it stop her from performing. She was a drama major at the college, and then moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. After moving to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find film roles. A supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in many TV movies and series in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received the Women in Film Lucy Award.
